i'm also enjoying the work-in-progress images of herzog + de meuron's beijing national stadium.....

at the moment, in my day job, my design partner + i are currently designing the public spaces of a hotel in dubai. the project is gorgeous + upmarket, but when i see this arab inspired space fashioned from breadcrates + boxes I think a grungy approach would have been just as fun.

i bought this gorgeous book while we were in paris 6 months ago.Written + illustrated by the ultra talented Beatrice Alemagna, the story is about a lion in Paris. The drawings are sublime, collaged, tetxured, strange perspetcives that really capture the essence of spaces. Wish I could see more of her work...
