téo turns one tomorrow!

made this cake late last night

for the festivities at childcare today.

none of the staff complimented me on the gateau

so i suspect it wasn't very delicious

i think téo enjoyed it though, given the quantity of chocolate crumbs in his hair....

bizarre weather in sydney at the moment... summer has just been sans fin, 30° and 100 percent humlidity right up until yesterday, then a huge storm and it seems that all vestiges of summer were washed away. positively hivernal today.

somehow got roped into delivering flowers on behalf of paris friends to a 74th birthday party....
lucky we got to take home a balloon....

on friday toute la famille went to the informal opening of tanguy's kidspace at the australian museum. 5 moveable pods, all with different themes, great photographic images covering the interiors, fairy bread for everyone, lovely.

how beautiful does the new de Young museum in San Fran look...

hmm, difficult to post what I've been working on at the moment... I have signed a confidentiality agreement.
next week I'm hoping the rhythm slows right back down...
in the meantime, mes deux amours

Yesterday I received my swap parcel from my beautiful-use partner Abby.

It arrived with perfect timing, on my birthday!

While excitedly opening the parcel, I failed to notice that the wrapping paper had quietly started to burn, piled up on top of the candles Tang had lit for my birthday. It was only when cinders started floating in the air that I noticed the flames and managed to avert disaster. You can see the shamefully singed edges of the beautiful bamboo spoons in the photo.

I wonder if my parcel has arrived. I remain a steadfast fan of the classic australian vinyl pencilcase with tiny letter pockets, I think they'd make a fine addition to the collection at colette.
